I am getting 200+ then dropping to around 50-60 every minute or two. Any Idea what this is and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance 😀

Is your GPU getting hot? If it is it could be down clocking. I would check your temperatures and GPU's speed to see if it is being down clocked. In CS:GO you should probably just cap your framerate at 140 anyways. There's literally no benefit having it higher.

I have a R9 280x toxic and I am only having this problem with CS, so I think I can rule out overheating, I will lock my FPS though 😀.

Ill give my temps a check just to be sure too.

Hey, just curious, i have the exact same gpu and got it for christmas, im having the same problem with random fps drops in only csgo, i can run games that are way more graphics demanding and never have a problem. This only seems to happen while im streaming and ive been trying to figure it out for around two days now, did you find a solution? ive tried pretty much everything and no matter what settings i put the game on it does the same thing, i play the game on a resolution of 1024x768 with everything on low besides shadows and i can max out the settings in 1920x1080 and get the same result. Its so confusing. I also feel like my card is under performing in the game as well, while im streaming i get around 150-180 with random drops to 90 that i cant notice and even more random drops to 50 and below that last for around 5-10 seconds while im in a gunfight, once im dead it shoots back up and everything is fine, i really dont know what to do, ive tried just about everything it seems.

im having the same problem with the same card, and only in csgo as well, did you find a solution?
