Hello,

For some reason in my CSGO some days I get 140 fps (max I can get as I use G-sync) and now today and other days it drops to around 90-110. I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas for the reaason for this, as it is really stupid and playing on 90fps isn't enjoyable or smoothw with 144hz.

Thanks,
Oli

Solution
Are you playing on the new maps? they are optimized horribly and you will notice dips. Also try mat_queue_mode 2 in launch options, sometimes that helps framerate. You should also take a look at your graphical settings, all should be on low and multicore rendering needs to be on for the highest framerates.

its not about maps or frame rate.. its about the server latency (ping)

i had similar issues where i got more frames on some days or some rounds than other's and i notice the issue is the ping (connection) to server.. no matter the map

the lower the ping the better because you will have smoother gameplay with less delays..

for example, when the ping is extremely high, your bullet connect will be much slower.. or sometimes some shots wouldnt hit

on a lower ping you will notice you are killing people faster because all the bullets hit...

its one of the downfall with playing some games online..

sometimes you play and you think that you are having an off day in the game but really it isn't its actually the server that is causing you to die..

a person with a higher ping than yours will kill you faster.

for example when u think you got one shotted and died instantly
..

so its not your hardware.. nothing is wrong with your system or even your connection

its the server

you are safe

it happens to me and you can see my specs in my signature below

If his framerate is lower, its not ping thats the problem. ITS HIS FRAMERATE. He said he noticed a dip in FRAMERATE, that would be his FRAMERATE dipping, not his PING.

Yea dude, this isn't a ping issue. It is purely FPS.

you don't understand..

the smoother the gameplay around the player and his surroundings around the player ingame will define the framerate..

for example the game needs to render otherplayers movements, even bullets coming out his weapon when shots fire, dust particles etc

its all about how smooth the game runs overall.. if he is in a bad server where things isn't as smooth as it should, he will indeed get lower FRAMES

as i said it happens to me.. nothing is wrong with my hardware and i sure nothing is wrong with his..
.

don't talk to me like i don't know what im talking about.. i do.. been playing games online for years

for example when battlefield 4 just came out.. dice server was overloaded and server latency was very high, they needed to upgrade their servers so players would not get rubber banding and slower gamplay and lag...

the problem was the servers and bugs that needed upgrading because they wasn't ready for next gen

do you think it was a million players ps4 console was bad? NO

not everything is hardware related

you know nothing john snow

That is actually not at all true. Bullets are not rendered, playermodels are constantly rendered, and requires practically no resorces to move them, smoothly or otherwise. I get terribly ping spikes, but still have 250-300fps at all times, regardless of lag spikes due to my terrible internet. SMOOTHNESS IS NOT FRAMERATE. THE NUMBER ON NET_GRAPH IS FRAMERATE. You can play games without understanding them, please stop confusing everyone reading this and do some googling.

It was rubber banding that was the problem there, and latency and netcode, not framerate. The lag was the ping lag and server optimization, not low framerate. They are two seperate issues

I believe I play on medium because it looks nicer. I'm not sure if I would change it down although if i need to then I will.

you still wouldnt understand

you are ignorant to facts and you seem to believe everything google tells you so good day sir..im not gonna argue

And to the OP

nothing is wrong with your hardware, dont let foolish individuals give you wrong info that will make you buy or upgrade your hardware for no such reason

if you once ever had 140 frames no one can tell you that your hardware is not powerful enough because the fact that is proven is that you got 140 frames..

as i said online isn't always smooth.. if you in a bad sever you will indeed see issues

I have my settings on low, but thats because i want good framerates, also make sure multicore rendering is on, will increase framerate a whole lot

Yeah, thanks.
