I install the game on my Windows 10, and when I try to run it, this message pops up: "Macromedia Projector has stopped working" and it offers to close the game. But it doesn't even open in the first place. I tried to install all those newest versions of Quicktime and Adobe Player, as was often recommended online. I tried to run the game in the compatibility mode, but no success. There were other couple ideas I found online, but can't really remember what they are. The result is the same.

CSI: Miami opens and it seems I can play it, although I didn't really take time to play it. Also CSI: Dark Motives crashes with the same message.

Please, help. I enjoyed the shows and want to experience the games, starting from the first one.

what setting in compatibility mode did you use? (XP sp2 should work)

you could try enableing Data Execution Prevention
To enable back DEP, type the following in an elevated command prompt and hit Enter:
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn

I copied/pasted the the stuff you said I should put in command prompt, and it gives the following message.
It says: The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
Access is denied.

Now I did it the right way. I'm sorry, I'm not very computer friendly other than playing on them.

Now when I try to run the game, it actually goes to a black screen as if it wants to run a game, but then a small window pops up, saying: director player error property not found. With two buttons: OK and Cancel. Neither do nothing really. The window keeps popping back up. And after I finally close the game, the Macromedia Projector has stopped working error appears again.

always fun those multi part problems
Uninstall the game and re-install it, but befor you do, make sure you also run the installer in XP SP2 mode

After the re-install is done, reboot your system befor trying to run the game

Well, if nobody can help me figure out what's the problem, maybe I should try this VM. As long as it's not like an emulator. Because I don't really like playing the console games on a computer like this.
