Hello, a couple months ago I bought almost a whole new computer. Now, about 3-4 months later, a problem has occurred. My hybrid hard drive that I re-used is now slowing down on read-time(100% Disk usage). This severely effects minecraft and other daily things I do. I was thinking maybe by the end of this week if this thread doesn't come up with something I haven't done, I'll buy this SSD CT275MX300SSD1. If you are unable to help me fix my current hybrid please give me your current opinion on that SSD. Thanks! (BY the way no crucial information or information hard to retrieve is on my hard drive. Although I'd like to do a data transfer.)

Hi dec4234.

The first thing you should do is to backup any important data which you might have on that drive, just to be on the safe side. After that I'd recommend that you download the SSHD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and run the tests, to see if anything alarming pops-up. If you don't know the manufacturer of if it doesn't offer a diagnostic tool, you can pick a 3rd party one from this article: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/tophddiag.htm. The idea is to check if there are errors or bad sectors.
If nothing out of the ordinary shows up, then you could give the drive a go with a different SATA port and different cables (data and power), to see if those issues still persist.

Other than that a system slow down or unresponsiveness could be the result of a virus as well, so I'd recommend that you update your antivirus program's database and run a full scan with it.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
