Cuestion About Pack Alpha

Hi! my question is: pack alpha inferior says "play before range is
determined" where the superior form says nothing, so.. until what
moment can i play pack alpha in superior?

So, let's say that I'm involved in a combat when i had blocked a minion
and i have a vampire with a dog pack, so I prevent the oposing minion
from playing combat ends, and he choose another strike, then when i
choose my strike can i burn the dog pack to gain the +1 strength bonus?

Once the retainer's dead, it's too late.

Oh, and if combat is over, it's too late, too.

And if you get to the point where you and your opponent get the chance
to play damage prevention from eachother's strikes, you can still play
it, but it won't take effect for that strike.

Yes. It would even affect for your current strike, too.
