Question Curious about network switches ?

Why do Ethernet network switches put have the ports on the front and the power on the other side? If you put case on desktop you have all the cables facing you? if they put them on the back with the lights on the front it would be neater looking. Im only asking because i am curious for aesthetics and no other reason. Thanks all

You just have to shop around they make switches like you describe. There likely is some saving in manufacturing costs for many switches to have similar configurations.
