I bought corsair vengeance lpx 2x8gb 2666mhz. For some reason, in the bios, the current dram frequency reads 2133mhz. Theres an xmp profile on the side that says ddr4 2666mhz. Can anyone explain this? Also i dont quite understand what xmp is.
Possibly related: i have an i5 6600k, but havent started overclocking it yet ( i mean to). Will overclocking it have an impact on ram frequency?
Thanks

(Not sure how to reply directly to supahos so hopefully someone sees this) But do i need to get any extra cooling for my ram to enable xmp? (probably a dumb question i know)
Also, i have enabled the automatic overclock (OC genie 4) and now xmp is unavailable. Does this mean that i need to manually OC if i want to use xmp as well as OC?
Thanks
