Hello, I've had my HP Workstation for about a year now, as a matter of fact the warranty on the HITACHI hard drive just let up today...so something might be fishy about that.

So, about a few hours ago I plugged in a USB Bluetooth Adapter and tried to pair my bluetooth headsets to my machine (Windows 10) and not even 2 minutes later I get a BSOD error of "Kernel auto boost lock acquisition with raised irql" and a strange buzzing sound came from the PC. I proceeded to wait until the error was resolved and my system started up normally. However this time upon restarting Windows did an update that was stuck at 100% for a good 3 or 4 hours. So yes, I did a reset on the system. My fault, I understand that much. You're not supposed to cut power while updating. But I had been waiting so long.

It turns out that my system was waiting to connect to Wifi but I'd never had that issue before. Upon restarting, S.M.A.R.T tells me that an imminent hard drive failure was occuring and after using CrystalDiskInfo, I ended up with this:

I combed through other forums before coming to the conclusion to start a new thread as my system didn't have any seek or read errors or uncorrectable sectors. Is there anything I can do? I've run a disk check and no errors were found, of course because chkdisk doesn't read into the future...Am I screwed and just need to buy a new Hard Drive, should I be worried or is this something that can be fixed?

Thank you!

Thanks for the response! The disk has stayed steady over 24 hours, no bad sectors have appeared. Just to see if it was a software error, I restarted with a full chkdsk on boot up and SMART didn't show up. However, I don't know if this was because chkdsk might have bypassed SMART and just booted into windows or if this is, as you said a software error. I'll make sure to keep an eye on it. Disk Checkup, SeaTools for Windows, HDD Checker, and WinDFT also say my drive has passed all tests.

If you don't mind, I also have a question about Current Pending Sector Counts, is there any way to get it back down to zero if this isn't a software issue?
