Ok so i was careless. I unplugged the power cord from the psu and didn't turn off the psu. then i messed around with cables and stuff. then i put the power cord back to the psu while it was still ON and now... my fans and lights flash every 2 seconds. Seems like the current is going but I don't know what to do anymore... I can't get it to stabilize and can't power on the pc. Now when I put in the power cord the lights from my comp just flashes... help please!

Uhh, I would definitely power everything off for a minute, then try again. Sounds like you either shorted something or crossed some wires!

First unplug all wires cept for the CPU fan and HDD and motherboard power. Yes, unplug your case fans and your cd-roms/dvd-roms, your lights and all power wires coming from your PSU. Try booting. If it still does that, swap the PS. If the new PS works, you may have shorted something on your motherboard (like a voltage regulator or something). You may want to check your BIOS to make sure its ok and not corrupted.

Note: everything it flashes, you may be messing up your hardware more. so be careful.

i unplugged everything except the 4 connectors that is required for the dfi lanparty nF4 ultra-D mobo and the hdd. But it still won't work. As you know there are 3 lights on the ocz powerstream 520 watt psu itself for the 3 different rails if they are working properly. Well it still flashes every 3 seconds or so when only the power cord and psu is turned on. It is not suppose to light on unless I turn on the pc and the psu will turn on. So in theory the psu is on when I didn't tell it to....

If you can, get ahold of a PSU tester. Antec sells one. It will allow you to test the voltages on all of the pins that supply power to the motherboard.

You OCZ should have shorting protection.

"An LED sits below each of the three adjustment dials; a green light indicates voltage is within ±5% of optimal, a yellow light indicates undervoltage, and red indicates overvoltage."
You don't get any yellows or reds, right?

I wonder if your BIOS got hosed or your mboard got messed up. I would have thought that the PSU would have protected any hardware, but never know.

When you plugged back the power with your computer on, what happened? Did the system start at all, or did it just go zap, or nothing happened?
Maybe your power switch is messed up... That would an nice, non-expensive fix =)

when i plug the powercord back to the psu, I can't even power on my pc. The lights from the motherboard and neon lights from fans just flash in between seconds. As if the current is here... then gone... then here.. then gone. Since the current isn't fixed and strong, the pc is not able to start up... I'm guessing.
