Hi guys -
I currently have a 30 inch Dell U3014, 60hz, at 2560x1600
I have had this for about 3 years and wanted to treat myself to a new monitor. I was considering two options:
1) 27-28 inch 1440p 144hz monitor with gsync, 1ms response time
2) 32 inch 4k 60 hz monitor with gsync, 4 ms response time
I have a GTX 980 TI and sit about 1.5 feet from the monitor
I ONLY PLAY WARCRAFT FOR 90-100% OF MY GAMING
I'm not someone who players shooters, CS:GO, etc. and can consistently get 60fps now
I have checked specs and done my research and expect, with my 980ti in WoW, I could also get consistent 60fps at 4k
With this said, which do you think is better? Is there still enough of an improvement going to 144hz that the 60->144hz is a better improvement than going to 4k?
I have been skeptical that I could tell such a big difference between 60->144 frames that this would be more worth the money than doubling my resolution, but I would love to be convinced
Thanks. Again, remember the only use case is Warcraft
