Currently planning out a new build, any advice is appreciated

I'm currently trying to reuse parts from my 5 year old build to create a new, much more powerful build. I'm looking for a build that costs around $1500 and I want to reuse my old 650 W power supply, disk drives, 128 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD. I could reuse my ATI Radeon HD 5870, though I am thinking about replacing it. Would these parts be good, and would they work with reusing the parts I specified above, or should I replace some of those parts too?

Will this work so far? And should I replace any more of the parts above, or will I be okay with a 650 W power supply? The power supply is pretty much my only major worry.

gtx 780 will run fine on a good PSU. IS that a good company?
& cheak its ampere.

What is your PSU model? And what is your current CPU? If it's an overclocked i7-920 or something like that, then you shouldn't really need to upgrade it since it's still a pretty darn capable CPU.

Even if the PSU is a brand name I wouldn't reuse it after spending $1500. If its 5 years old Id be worried about it dying especially if you stress it with a high end system. If it goes pop it could do damage to the rest of the system.

My PSU is pretty old and I'm at work right now so I don't have the model on hand. I think I might as well throw the money down on a new one, honestly. It would make me feel more comfortable.

My current processor is an AMD Phenom II x6. I am a streamer and my current processor, as well as RAM are taxed HARD. So the CPU is the real upgrade I need. My graphics card doesn't cause problems, but I also kind of want to do a build that'll last me a significant amount of time.

In that case, the i7-4770k upgrade is totally worth it. The Phenom II x6 series is comparable to the i7-900 series up to the 950.

My case shouldn't pose a problem, and I will more than likely replace my PSU at this point. Would you recommend a 750 W? Something bigger? Something smaller?

My hard drives will definitely be okay.

I just have a standard CD drive.

Do you guys think any extra cooling would be necessary?

Sorry, in my haste I passed that up. I'll probably take your advice on that PSU actually, because you know a lot more than I do. But I think I got the answers I need. Thank you so much for the help!
