Cursor disappeared after Windows update

My Dell is not showing the cursor. I can't get past the security screen to get to the keyboard to make the changes. This happened using the mouse pad. I have an external mouse that plugged in and I can get to where I'm supposed to type in my password and its not recognizing anything from the keyboard. This happened after Windows updated last night. Help please!

You may want to try an external keyboard and see if that works. If it does, then I would suggest you...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If that doesn't help, then the keyboard itself may be the problem.
