Cursor jumps to different lines for no reason .....

I had a similar issue with the mouse on a computer running Vista OS. I replaced the mouse with another identical make and model, and the problem was solved.

Try replacing the mouse.

I concur wholeheartedly.... !

(might also be the keyboard, perhaps an intermittently stuck arrow up/down key?)

ALso, make sure the mouse is not on a piece of glass like a clear coffee table!
