I looked all over the www.asus.com web site for info on the CUSL2 MB and the
search came back with nothing. Don't they keep info on legacy products on
there???

I need to know what types memory that MB will support.

I know it takes PC100/133 SDRAM 168 pin DIMM's up to a max of 512 MB.
Download the manual for more specific info. I do recall that the MB was
a bit finicky about it's memory. I'm running Crucial in mine with no
probs. The Crucial part # is CT32M64S4D7E (256mb)

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I looked thru the manual and could not find the
Pentium III proc speeds available for this MB. PIII xxxMHZ for example??

I know that my TUSL2-C works very good.
Check this out , maybe it helps you

You have to be a little careful interpreting the CUSL2 table in the
cpusupport page, as it doesn't identify the differences between
Coppermine 0.18u and Tualatin 0.13u S370 processors. The TUSL2
included support for Tualatin, while the CUSL2 can handle the
Coppermine.

If you visit processorfinder.intel.com and select Pentium III
from the pulldown list, you'll see entries for 0.13u and 0.18u.
You can use that to distinguish between Tualatin and Coppermine.

(If you don't see a list, click "Go")
http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/default.asp?CHRID=25

I don't know what happens on a CUSL2, if you use the wrong type.
Presumably some Googling will help determine whether a Tualatin
can be made to work (maybe it needs a socket mod?). One guy tried
an Upgradeware 370GU adapter, but the BIOS only offered a Vcore
as low as 1.7V, while ideally the Tualatin should get 1.5V. Maybe
his board needed to be flashed to a later BIOS.

http://www.upgradeware.com/english/product/370gu/compatibility.htm
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20020924/index.html

The only reason I mention this, is there are more likely to be
Tualatin processors offered for sale, and you need to get the
SSPEC code (SLxxx) from the seller, to be able to check and
see what kind of processor it is. That way, you'll know what
you are up against (Coppermine 0.18u versus Tualatin 0.13u).
Tualatins in the processorfinder list, run from 1GHz to 1.4GHz,
and there is a 1GHz Coppermine and a 1GHz Tualatin, and those
are the two that could get confused.

If you pick up some PC133 memory, that will work with FSB100 or
FSB133 processors. It is best if the memory is CAS2 if you can
find it, from a memory bandwidth perspective.

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=9527&distributor=0&submit1=Search

The note on the Kingston page is interesting. It seems to be copied
from the 815E datasheet, which you can find here.

http://developer.intel.com/design/chipsets/datashts/index.htm?iid=PCG+devleftnav&

This is what Intel says for the 815E -

"Integrated SDRAM Controller
* 32 MB to 512 MB using 16-Mb/64-Mb/128-Mb/256-Mb technology
* Up to 3 double sided DIMMs at 100 MHz system memory bus
* Up to 2 double sided or 3 single sided DIMMs at 133 MHz
system memory bus."

Based on that info from Kingston, you may want to check Google posts
on running PC133 modules:

It will use any of the Coppermine 0.18 micron processors (both P3 and
Celeron), It will not accept the 0.13 micron Tulatin cpu's. Bus
frequencies = 100 or 133.

Newegg has 1GHz/133's for around $90 usd.

good luck
