[SOLVED] Custom build compatability + Case recommendation

Hey there I am looking at getting this current build for 1080p 60fps gaming using my old gtx 970;



-MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX

-Corsair RM650x 650W Modular 80+ Gold PSU

-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz 6 Core (Socket AM4) CPU

-Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) 3600MHz DDR4

-Asus GTX 970 Strix (from previous pc)

-Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB M.2-2280 SSD (For OS)



As far as I'm aware all of these products are compatible but just wanted a confirmation on here before I go ahead as I really don't have the time or patience to research all the various products in the market.



I am still deciding on a good case that would be compatible with this build and was wondering if anyone could recommend me one, I am not after anything flashy just a simple black case that gets the job done.

Case budget is £50-£70


If anyone can spot any potential problems with this config please let me know

What is the system budget? Those 970 evo's are great drives, but overly expensive, for just a gaming rig. I would move on to a B550 board, at this point.

Overall budget is £650 (saving money by using my old graphics card) what's the reasoning for the b550 over b450? It''s a fair bit more expensive from what I could see

B550 has PCI-E 4.0, for graphics, and the top M.2 slot. The chipset lanes are 3.0 instead of 2.0. Future CPU support could be better as well.

So with the 450 I wouldn't be able to use the 970 evo m2. ssd?

You would be able to use it, but the drive is overly expensive, for just a gaming rig. Games don't take advantage of such speeds either. Sata SSD's are plenty fast enough, but NVME drives, like the Intel 660p, and Crucial P1 makes buying said drives kinda pointless, unless you have a system that lacks an available, and compatible M.2 slot.
