Custom build feedback please- gaming computer under $600

I'm looking at building a decent gaming desktop computer for under $600. I have put together two parts lists on PCPartsPicker and would love your thoughts. I don't have the confidence to KNOW if I'm doing a good job or not so any feedback would be great! Also if you have some other great ideas please share Thank you so much for any help you can give.

I would choose the first one, because it has a r9 380 4gb, although the i5 4590 is better, but if I were you I would save 100$ and get this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CyDGFT (699$) Totally worth the extra money, it includes an i5 4590 and a r9 380 4gb, and also a motherboard and psu that supports crossfire

This is better than either. There are too many things wrong with your first build to "fix" and the second one is not balanced enough.
