I'm a video editor trying to build a new system for editing from home and I was wondering if this build would work and be compatible with Mac OSX Mavericks. I use Adobe CC primarily now and just need a system faster than what I have.

I'm pretty new to this so I've been using this website: http://portatech.com/products/product.cshtml?id=79415&o=85706

Here's what I'm looking at now:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K
Motherboard: Asus Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC)
Memory: 32GB DDR3-1600 Memory (4 x 8GB Kit)
Storage: 2TB SATA3 - 6gb/sec 7200RPM (64MB Cache) Hard Drive
Storage: 60GB SATA3 Solid State Drive (SSD)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX760 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 256bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card (02G-P4-2765-KR) Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2765-KR (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHW4HXY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20)
Case: Antec Clean Design Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: 900W Power Supply w/ Active PFC
Operating System: OSX Mavericks

Any help, comments, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You mean you want a Hackintosh? I can help you there. Just look at my username :)

You should probably build the computer yourself for less money and more compatible parts

This should be fully compatible.

My thoughts:

1. i7-4790K is as good as it gets at anywhere near the price.

2. Buy a $30 tower type cooler with a 120 or 140mm fan. Your cpu will run cooler and quieter.

3. 60gb for the "C" drive is too small. Many things want to go on C. When a ssd fills to 90%capacity it will lsow down and lose endurance.
120gb is minimum, and I would go 240gb considering current ssd prices.
Samsung or Intel is what I would pick.
4. GTX760 Graphics card is fine. It will need a 500w psu.
I have no problem overprovisioning a PSU a bit. Say 20%.
It will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently in the middle third of it's range.
A PSU will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.
Seasonic, antec and xfx are quality units for starters.

5. Cases are a personal thing, and most will do your job.
The Antec P100 might fit your specs:

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think that 32GB at 1600 will cut it for RAM? And would a GTX770 be a better choice or is there not much difference?

Thanks for the list. Do you prefer Asus to EVGA for a video card?

No, just that EVGA 770 isn't being produced anymore and therefore out of stock. Also you should use a 770 and not a 970 because the 770s are more compatible with OS X.
