So...I'm building my own computer after 5 years with the HD graphics and an Intel i3 2100 cpu...an outdated motherboard and a psu with a f*ck ton of problems.

Specs:
GPU-MSI GTX 1070 ARMOR 8GB OC 8GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI 3xDP PCI-E
CPU-AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4Ghz AM4
RAM-Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 2400Mhz CL14 Kit
Motherboard*-MSI B350 TOMAHAWK AM4, AMD B350, DDR4, 2xPCI-E, VGA, DVI, HDMI.(Not sure about this motherboard because I don't know if it goes with this pc and I don't really know how to pick one).
HDD-Seagate Barracuda HDD 2TB Sata III ST2000DM006
Cooling-CoolerMaster Seidon 240V
Case-Antec GX330 Window Steel

Now, I don't really know about the Motherboard, the Case and the Cooling and if they go together
and I need suggestions for the PSU...I will be greatful to also get suggestions for the case, cooling and motherboard.

I'll be having dual monitors.*(Just to let you know).
Other things I'm getting with the PC:
New monitor-Asus VG248QE 24'' LED LCD
Keyboard-Corsair K55 RGB
Thermal paste*(If i need it....First time building a pc....):Arctic MX-4 20g
Headphones-Plantronics RIG 505 LAVA

Solution

purely for gaming on a 144hz monitor @ 1080p ?

If so ryzen is not optimal

you need an i7 build

plus the case and monitor you want

Solution
If u planning only on gaming ,i7 6700k is the best price to performance ,no need to go rysen 7 unless u doing video editing and rendering stuffs .U can spend the money on gtx 1080.you can get MSI z170 A- PC mate .PSU cooler master v750 .Cooler Antec khuler 1250 or 1200pro will be fine .Casing corsair carbide and thermaltake versa are nice

I will be recording videos, editing and rendering them...

this is incorrect

ryzen are not good overclockers at all, and currently mobos have issues with high speed ram

but yes, for rendering it is the better choice

then you need to make a choice

gaming with some work? intel

work with a bit of gaming? ryzen

I also suggest you go with a ultrawide or 1440p monitor

ryzen bottlenecks a 1070 at 1080p
