Ok - so I've taken all the advice I've been given and going ahead with a custom built PC. So far I have;
Motherboard - Asus Maximus VI HERO Z87 Socket 1150 HDMI ATX Motherboard
Processor - Intel Core i5 4670 3.40GHz Socket 1150 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
Graphics Card - MSI GTX 760 TwinFrozr OC 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E
Power Supply - Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze PSU
RAM - Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR 1866Mhz Ballistix Tactical Tracer Orange/Blue Memory Kit CL8 1.5V
Hard Drive - Toshiba 2tb 3.5 Int Sata 7200rpm Hdd
Case - Zalman Z11 Plus High Performance Mid Tower Case

(Along with W7 64bit)

Anyone else recommend anything I should change or need to add?

Might wanted to get a ssd if you have the budget for the OS. 128-ish gig should be good.

those links are the same however there is an option to change the size by the price and "Add to cart" button.
Everything seems good.
W7 is more of a personal thing it seems. Apparently some games play better (battlefield 4) because only windows 8(.1) has directX 11.2 or something similar.

Unless you are getting a "K" series Cpu, don't bother with the z87 motherboard, unless being able to run the ram @ 1866mhz is super important to you. The h87 motherboards only support up to 160mhz, so the 1866mhz would most likely be a waste.

I'd also upgrade from the CX Corsair line of Psu's. Not the best in terms of quality, more suitable for budget builds honestly. Look at SeaSonic, Antec, Xfx or other Corsair models that aren't the CX or CXM or GS line.

Also, don't pay a premium for that Ram. 1866mhz is great, but not worth it if it's quite a bit more, like more than 5 dollars. CAS latency 8 is excellent as well, but don't pay much for it over CAS 9 either.

Looks great to me. I'm an AMD guy personally, but the i5 should give you plenty of power for gaming. You might want to get the k version though, because you will probably need to overclock it in the future to keep up with next gen games. Other than that though, it looks pretty good.

Thanks! Yeah forgot to mention it's the K version. I'm just unsure as to if or not I'd need extra cooling? From what I've heard the case is pretty good for it and so on, and I'm only really on it evenings/weekends. I don't want to go anything above £900. (Budget is £1k incl. monitor)

Is there a particular PSU you'd recommend?

Intel CPU run way cooler than AMD, so you could get away with using the stock cooler for gaming purposes, just don't expect to be able to overclock with stock cooling.

Would the Corsair AF120 do the trick? I'm not planning on Overclocking but just in case? I have an Amazon.com voucher that's in need of using, I assume I could still use them over here in the UK?

Ahh, I think that'll be something to look in later on. I'll stick to getting it together first haha. Would a couple extra fans be useful though?

Not in the UK, some 280x cards are cheaper than 760s - hence the post. His 760 is £10 cheaper though

I don't think it's much more with eBuyer, so I'll go for that one :) nAlso added the Cooler Master Hyper!
