Custom built home workstation

Aug 19, 2011
Approximate Purchase Date: By the end of this month.

Budget Range: £2000 inc VAT (Flexible - quality is important)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Programming, Automated Testing, Virtual Machines, Photoshop intensively, light gaming(10 hours a month at most), light video watching(the occasional dvd in a weekend).

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:

Country of Origin: United Kingdom

Parts Preferences: No real preference for components. I am a fan of corsair psus and maybe would like the 650D case, but if better alternatives are suggested, I'm happy. The monitors though, I was looking at Dell u2410 vs Dell u2412M. I want to get two of them.

I can say that I am a fan of this GPU after reading some nice reviews:

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe(say 30% chance)

Monitor Resolution: Dual 1920x1200

Additional Comments: The quieter the better. No real need for odd looking cases with leds and all that, the plain corporate style would do just fine.

I am tempted to get the build featured here: under Enthusiast: $1,317.89 Update MOBO, GPU, PSU & Case.

I have been browsing around for about two months, mostly on this site, hardforum, overclockers uk and the reviews section on newegg and so far I can say that the build I mentioned above seems to satisfy all my needs.

I want to get an SSD drive for the OS.

Your help will be truly appreciated. I promise a picture with the final setup if it all works according to plan.
