Hello, i'm planning to make my own custom sleeved psu cables for Corsair rm750x, and i faced one problem. 20+4pin ATX cable has 18+10 pin connection on PSU side, using additional capacitors for extra contacts. If i make 18+6 pin on psu side, will it work the same, or capacitors are mandatory?

Solution
Nope, don't do it. Either have the wires as they are as the orignal unit/cable kit or contact Corsair for a wiring diagram and ask them if the capacitors are necessary? IMHO, if they weren't necessary why were they bundled/manufactured in the first place? Seasonic had the same thing implemented in their 760/860W units in their Platinum range and the caps could only be removed if they weren't being used on high end GPU's, in fact it was stated on OCN by a rep when asked if the caps can be snipped. Capacitors on a length of cable help in refining the power output.

To be on the safe side, keep the caps and don't tamper with the wiring layout, it could cost you a PSU(or two). Something worth reading into.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess it will be better to begin with extensions. Got Corsair Carbide 400c case, so i have to figure it out how to fit them right,as there is not much place in it.

I would advise against extensions since it just adds more cables to the spaghetti/mess and if you looked deeper, you'll understand that more wires just isn't a healthy mix for the PSU and it's efficiency since you will encounter resistivity across longer expanses of wires. Reduce the length(via custom length) and you reduce the resistivity encountered.

Have you tried contacting www.ensourced.net/Ensourced or Cablemod for a custom length set of wires? Your unit is fully modular so, yeah, that can be accomplished.

You're welcome!
