I'm making my own computer side panel out of acrylic. I have it all sized up, but im not sure how to attach it to the actual case. I was thinking drilling holes and using zip ties, any other ides?

Drill holes in the acrylic and the side panel "guides" in the case and screw it in directly.
Figure out some way to use the normal mounting screws at the back.
Attach a piano hinge to the acrylic and case and have yourself a swinging door (Coolermaster Cosmos II).
Make some kind of catch mechanism, like that of the Corsair C70.
Make a rail so you can slide the panel into place.

Just what I came up with quickly.

I've used 3M tape in past and it was solid, i mean, i could push the "window" with my 2 thumbs and it wasn't moving away and the side panel was bending...

You could do some hinge with a magnetic lock on the front to keep it closes and loook nice or do a 90 curve shape at the end and drill holes for the stock screws and attach the front with a grooved panel at the bottom and/or at the front...
