Custom function for power button ?

so i have an issue with origin that makes my pc restart instead of shutting down if i don't quit/kill it, so i want use a .Bat to kill it then shutdown whenever i press the power button, Is this possible ? And if not is there a solution for this issue ?

The very common default functions of the On / Off pushbutton includes this: Push and hold in the button for at least 4 sec, and the machine will turn off immediately.

no, i mean i want to assign a .bat file to run when the on/off button is pressed

I guess I don't understand. To get it to NOT re-start you "quit / kill it". The regular way is to click on Start ... Turn Off Computer ... Turn Off, and it shuts down. This does not work, I guess. What exactly do you do that works?

Easiest solution would be to write the .bat that you want to run at shutdown, and then add it to Windows Task Scheduler triggered by the shutdown. Though, as I understand, it only works when you use the windows GUI to shut it down.
