Custom Graphics Card Driver Needed to Mine?

I was thinking of mining Vertcoin with a GTX 1060 6GB. As far I see, it's regular guy friendly. However, I know with all the coins to mine, they seem to have custom mining drivers. My computer isn't a dedicated mining machine, as I would like to game here and there.

Is it that bad to use stock Nvidia drivers? Will it work but use too much power and make it not worth it? It would be out of the question to install and reinstall depending on what one wanted to do on the system. I couldn't really find an answer on the web. Thanks.

no you're fine using the stock drivers. With a only a single card you're not going to make a lot but it doesn't hurt to do it. To avoid the pain of learning the ins and outs of mining software for only a single card I'd advise you to download and use nicehash
