Hey, I dont really frequent any forums at the moment but here is my situation.
I recently built a new high end PC with the following specs:
CPU: 6700k 4.4Ghz 1.325v
GPU: Founders 1080
MB: ASrock Extreme 4 z170
RAM: 16GB Corsair LPX
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 750W 80+ Gold
Drives: 120GB Sandisk SSD Boot, 960GB OCZ Trion SSD Storage
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400
Extra: NZXT Hue+

Now I am really happy with the build but I wanted to look into custom watercooling, it currently has an arctic freezer 240 which keeps the 6700k at around 40 idle and 70 load overclocked.

I wanted to know if it would be ok to run a CPU + GPU loop with a single rad and what kind of parts I would be looking at as I am a complete noob to watercooling. My budget would be around 500 but I can go higher as I am not sure what kind of budget I would need. Also I am looking to SLI the 1080 as my friend is giving me one because he is getting a new titan

Thanks for reading and here are some pics of my setup :)

Option 2 is fine. Loop order doesn't really affect temps at all(1-2 degrees at most), no reason to go with 2 separate 120mm rads for this reason. Only important part is pump following reservoir. If your sticking with case, definitely go with 360 radiator though.
Hi there. Looking into custom loop I see. What are your goals for the loop? I see you mention a single radiator. Is a 360 the largest you can fit? If so, since your CPU is OC'd and you want to add the 1080, its borderline to be enough. If you OC also the 1080...thats another story IMO. To keep your temps low along with low noise this isn't realistic. You could go with a high FPI rad w/ higher RPM fans, but still the noise will get to you. I went to more rad and lowspeed fans for this reason myself. If you're planning on adding a second 1080, I'd be looking for a new case. Also, SLI should be fine w/ most hard bridges on 1080s. The new HB bridges really don't make much difference in performance from what I've seen. Some may be to wide, but most should fit. I have an Nvidia bridge on my SLI 970s with waterblocks. Regarding your budget, depends on what your your looking at for the quality and bling factor. Soft tubing or rigid? Drive bay pump/res? Tube res? Fitting type? Colored tubing? ect.

Sorry for delay, been busy. Regarding should you watercool, its really a decision only you can decide. Lot of work involved in custom loop. However, since you have a Founder's 1080(have 1 myself), I'd consider it. If you monitor temps and GPU boost speeds, you'll see it doesnt take long to get to 82C and dropping speeds and higher fan noise. I have a waterblock ordered for mine as we speak. With my current 970s, they go to max boost and stay there entire gaming session, outside of loading screns, ect. Never go higher than mid 40's GPU temps in summer.

Heres my 2 ideas, I could have 2 120 rads and have it go res>pump>gpu>rad>cpu>rad2
or I could get a 240/360 Rad and go res>pump>gpu>cpu>rad

Also not planning on SLI for a few years
