Question Custom loop using a EVGA hybrid GPU

In theory, couldn't you just cut the tubes coming from the GPU, put fittings on the ends, and link it to a custom loop? I assume you would have to disable the pump.
(I am kinda new to custom watercooling so if the answer is obvious sorry)

In theory, many things are possible.

The question is, can you?
And do you want to possibly screw up a $1,000 part?

Its a 1070 Ti and I got it used for around $330, but........ You make a good point.

Assuming the tubes on that GPU are a standard size, then yes you could chop them off and reconnect them to an open loop system. That is also assuming that the pump is located on the radiator.

A better idea would be to sell the hybrid cooler by removing it from your card, and then invest in getting a custom waterblock for the gpu with some VRM coolers to ensure that it's a secure fit to a custom loop.

Nearly all AIOs use aluminum components, most custom loops are brass, copper and nickel.

I know that the block is copper, but sadly I'm pretty sure that the pump is above the block. Do you know if I could disable it somehow? (Like if the pump is externally wired to the card)

And yes, I know that most AIOs use aluminum and/or copper.
