Hello, I have made another Custom Build PC but this one i think is my final build and i just wanted confrimation that everything would work well together as i have added the new AMD R9 270x GPU so yea just wanted to know if it's a good setup and if it will run most games on high if not ultra settings.

CPU Cooler: NEW! Xigmatek Dark Knight Nighthawk SD1283
Motherboard: Gigabyte X79-UD3
Memory: 16GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x8GB)
Hard Drive: 2TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case: NEW! Zalman Z3 Plus

Thanks.

It would depend on the resolution you want to play at but at 1080p the video card is kinda lacking for ultra settings. And the X79 and 16Gb ram is overkill for gaming, going for a 4670k,a z87 motherboard, and 8gb of ram would save enough to allow for a better GPU like the 280x or a GTX770. If you do stick with the X79 get 4 sticks of ram(4x4) so you can atleast take advantage of quad channel ram. But as it sits its unbalanced for a gaming rig. Whats the budget for the build?

What is your budget?

I would not suggest going an X79/2011 for gaming in most cases and esp not with an R9 270x

Here is an example of an inexpensive yet potent build

My budget is £900 but for this build it is slightly over as it is £933.41 but i do not wish to go any higher at all if possible.

Also as you can see i am from the UK (Scotland) so I would probably prefer to avoid ordering the PC from American websites if possibe. The website i have been using which i would be most comfortable ordering from would be DinoPC.co.uk incase you wish t go on there to see what i can select, thanks !

Ok, I went back onto the website i used to build the PC and i re-built one taking your suggestions, also I would just like to add that I will need this rig for editing as well as gaming which is why I selected 16GB of ram and 2TB of memory and the i7 processor. So yea here is what i managed to come up with, and I changed the cipset to the Z87 as you suggested.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS5X Performa
Operating Sysetm: Winows 8.1 (64 bit)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-D3H
Memory: 16GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x8GB)
Hard Drive: 2TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case: Zalman Z3 Plus
PSU: 700W Xigmatek

Thank you for all the help so far, you have saved me from wasting money on a rig that may not even perform as good as I would want.

Looks much better.
