custom pc case

I have a question about custom pc cases, or people who dont even have cases. How do they have powerbuttons, if they dont have a case and front panel connectors

I use a small flat screwdriver to short the two power pins on the Mobo. After all isn't what the power button does?

It depends on the motherboard. Some boards have power buttons built on to them. Otherwise you just jumper the power pins on the motherboard. A screw driver, paper clip, really any metal will do the trick.
