Hello!
I recently got into PC Building, and decided to make a low end, cheap computer. Here are the specs:
AMD A8-7600 w/ Integrated Graphics
MSI A68HM-E33 V2 FM2+
Avexir DDR3 240-Pin (2x4 GB)
215w Compucase Corp PSU
WL 1TB 64 Cache Hard Drive
Because I was going for a cheaper build, I wanted to make use of Integrated Graphics. The PC will only be used for light web browsing, so it fits my needs. I put it together, and pressed the power button. The first time, I realized it was the front panel LED and power button switches that I didn't put in the right place. I fixed the polarity, and pressed the power button. It didn't work. I forgot to put washers under the motherboard screws, so the board would ground. Then I clicked the power button once again. It didn't work. I thought it was the PSU, so I did the Paperclip Test (Google it) it passed. I didn't use a anti-static bracelet, but I didn't feel my finger getting shocked.
My PSU has a red switch:
As I highlighted above.
When I move the switch, I can change it from 215w to 150w. I changed it to 150w, and when I clicked the power button, the CPU Fan moved for a quick moment, then stopped. I was able to replicate this event several times. I'm not sure what's the problem. Any help?
