[SOLVED] Custom pc not starting up

Hi, i recently built my custom pc but it wont start up. I followed a video and it said eliminate each part 1 by 1 to figure out the problem.
I found when i unplugged the 8 pin cpu cable everything else would start up fine. So the problem is obviously something with power to cpu.
What should i do to correct this? Do i need another cpu? or have i done something wrong that i can correct it?

i messaged my friend and he told me my cpu is not compatible with my motherboard. Its i5-7500 and msi z370-a Pro. Going to replace my motherboard woops!

Better yet, replace the cpu. That CPU is already kind of dated. I would see if you can return it and get something newer.
