Custom pc wont connect to benq monitor

I recently built a custom gaming pc featuring i5 7600, gtx 1070, 16gb ram and when i try to connect it to my benq RL2755HM monitor via hdmi it will not work. Computer powers on fine and all fans are working, including the gpu. please help if you can

Go into the menu of the monitor and change the input to hdmi.
my benq often doesnt recognise when i change the input from e.g. dvi to hdmi

thanks but i fixed it by plugging a fan into cpu fan 2. dont really get how that fixed it but it connects fine now

haha, that sounds like it was just a bug/hickup somewhere in the system.
anyhow good it works for you now.
