Sorry if it's hard to grasp, English isn't my first language.

As the title suggests my tv doesn't support 1440p 60 fps, so In order for me to achieve 60 fps gaming at 1440p, i have to set up a custom resolution.

Here is the question.
In the disclaimer for setting up a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel, it said something about it be being potentially harmful to run a screen at a higher hz, than natively supported. My screen do support 60hz at 1080p and 4k, but only 30hz in 1440p, so am I forcing my screen to run at 60hz in 1440p and potentially harming my tv, or am actually using a 1080p resolution, with some DSR trickery to make it look like a 1440p 60 fps picture?

In other words, how safe is this procedure?

It's as safe as running it at any supported res or hz. To be above native, you have to be above 60hz. It's more of a legal warning. You won't even find someone who killed a monitor by ocing it above native hz. Res is irrelevant, it scales like any other res.
