Ok, I started with the whole PC gaming thing back at the start of this year, I still have a lot to learn, and I am learning a lot each day. About a week ago, I changed my case since my last case was considered cheap by many PC people I watch on the Internet and I was having a lot of struugles with it. The differences between the last version and the new one are the case, and I changed my cpu cooler from the Intel one to the H100i of corsair. My case is the h440 of NZXT. I myself didn't notice the smell until a friend came over and noticed it. I smelled it from close, and the smell was strong on the back, where the MOBO ports are and also my exhaust fan is. I thought that the smell could be since that the only exhaust fan I have, so the heat came out strong producing the smell, but I want to be sure.
Also, really important, I bled in the process of passing my parts to the new case, I didn't noticed until I felt my hand wet, when I noticed it, I've just ended putting my mobo in, and my bloody had was grabing the Mobo from the area where the Fan_4 pins are, I got intensely scared and checked for blood stains in my mobo, and didn't find any. My Computer works perfectly, but I am scared of the smell. I want to know how to fix it and what could it mean. Thank you

Ok, that is good. If you are really concerned about the smell, you could take everything out of the case for a few days and re-assemble the components on a non-conductive surface (like a piece of cardboard). That way if it continues to smell like something overheating you may be able to sniff around (carefully) the various parts to see if you can isolate the source.

Ok, thanks, I will put an update in a week, in case the smell continues...

I certainly checked, but I highly doubt it since my cooler is brand new, I will clean my PC soon anyways, so I'll make sure to clean it

could be the PSU heating up a little more from the extra draw the H100i is pulling. I usually smell burning wires or plastic when new hardware heats up for the first time. Think as long as you don't see smoke spewing out then your good

It is the EVGA SuperNova P2, platinum certified, and I don't think it is burning plastic, but ill check my PSU, but the PSU is and smells normal...

I don't see any smoke at any time... Does the smell fade away?

Yes sir, I always make sure of it, and my new case came with them already installed, I still made sure that they were properly placed.
