Hi guys
is it fine to use custom psu cables from a diff brand of the psu? for example..thermaltake sleeved cables on a corsair psu?

Solution
No, because the pin out from the psu side could be different, the change in input side of the cable will change the pinout at output. And this will damage your comnected parts, psu, Mobo, videocards ...

ok..then how to know which sleeved cables to buy? any corsair ones?

i didnt mention they are an extension cables

i know what you are referring to,

the best way to ensure they work properly is to get original replacement parts, or parts that's been certified/compatible to it.
i won't make the assumption that same brand will work together, because they maymodify the wiring in different series / revisions.
only way to be certain is to check the pinout

here is a example pinout for 2 psu.

look at the how different the pin looked, using a different extension cable will result in output to be completely messed up. and damage your devices.

if you have the two psu model number, i can see if there is any pinout online available, and check it for you.

custom sleeve cable maker will get the pinout from the manufacture, and wire them individually to produce standard output pinout,

You can buy them from https://www.moddiy.com/ They can provide any cables in any length and colors for all Corsair models.
