Do I just cut it along the copper lines on the non plugged in end and call it a day?

Every search on google just brings me to tutorials where they clamp more wires or a connector on after cutting the strip, but don't say whether that is needed.
Can I just cut it and leave it as is, or do I need to cover the end somehow?

Solution
It differs from strip to strip but look at it carefully and you would see that LEDs are connected in sets of 3 or 4 with a little chip in between sets. You can actually cut anywhere but last 2 or 3 will not light up so cut just before that little chip and all the LEDs left will be lit up.

Ok so I don't need to cover it with electrical tape or anything then?
