Hello everyone, i'll be quick on this but my PC broke down like 1.5 weeks ago and i need a PSU and my 3 options are what the title says, prices are the following

CV550 - 61€
CV650 - 69€
CoolerMaster MWE 600 Bronze V2 - 65€

Which one do you recommend? Also my PC specs are the following

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2
CPU: i5-750 2.67GHz but overclocked to 3.8GHz
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC, not overclocked
RAM: 4+4GB Corsair 1333MHz (OC'ed to 1480MHz cuz of the CPU OC) and 2+2GB 1333MHz Corsair again total 4 sticks.
SSD: Samsung 860 Pro 500GB
HDD: WD Green 500GB

And yes, i've checked their tier lists, the CooleMaster sits on B, the CV550 at D and 650 on C

Thanks!

Of those the CoolerMaster V2 is what I would go with. If you cannot get that then the CV650 is the next "best." Don't touch the CV550.

If you can afford a bit more this is a good choice and best of the bunch.

Unfortunately what you suggested me is way out of budget and where i'm from (Greece) it costs 101€ for the 650 and 85€ for the 550 but regardless it's out of budget.

I can definitely get the V2 with free shipping as well and i'll have it in my hands in 2 days, same with the CV550/650 , i can get my hands on them in 2 days

but ye, thanks for your time and help, i'll gather your opinions and what other people have said on other forums and i'll decide, thanks 😀

Wait, now i see the photos of the product of the V2 and it has the code of MPE-ACABW which means is in the tier C state in the low priority units and i thought it was the MPE-ACAAB (tier B) but that's the 650W which costs 85€ , that's a bummer, i think the next best thing is the CV650 then...

A guy in another forum suggested me the Smart BM2 650w and later the P650B, what do you think?

While this post is from 2020, the information is still relevant. For reference the poster, jonnyguru, is the Director of PSUs at Corsair. He has basically forgotten more about PSUs than most people will even know. https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/recommended-psu-to-buy.3603290/#post-21736677 You can use this as a guide for a basic PSU.

Gotcha, thanks for that!

But something i cannot figure out for some reason, why do power supplies have the 230v EU label on them? What does that mean? I mean yeah i know that it means that it will work on a 230v power outlet but anything more than that?

Savings on the input. Only usable with 230v mains. Corsair CV650 has a full range input, a bit higher quality and a better fan. The CV650 would be my recommandation despite the Cooler Master has a more modern LLC platform.

It means a cheap product that was so costed down that they skimped on the voltage range to save pennies. And some of these PSUs will have trouble with even minor voltage dips. You'll rarely see an actual quality PSU being 230V-only.

Gotcha fellas, thanks for the help

Order placed, the CV650 is on it's way!
