Cyber Police on Tablet

father-in-laws Sony table has Cyberpolice ransom ware locking it down. Can't get it to do a full reset, any suggestions

Sony couldn't help me, imagine that, but I found the answer below on doing a factory reset when you can't access the settings app.


IMPORTANT: The tablet cannot be asleep and successfully perform this operation. It must be completely off.

3.With the tablet completely off, press and hold the Volume Up (+) button for at least 3 seconds, and while continuing to hold that button, press the Power for one second and then release.
NOTE: Continue to hold the Volume Up (+) button until the Android system recovery screen is displayed. Once that screen is displayed, release the Volume Up (+) button.

4.In the Android system recovery screen, use the Volume Down (-) button to highlight the Reset to factory settings

But, it didn't get rid of the Ransom Ware still trying
