Well one thing you have to look for... is the company a true builder or a parts dealer? Cyberpower, like may other comapnies, is primarily a parts dealer... building systems is just a way to sell more parts in bulk. Basically, they throw all of the parts together, turn it on and make sure it works and then ship it out.
The hard part about system building is configuring, tweaking and optimizing... which these parts dealers do not do. That is why they are cheap... they are just selling the parts. IMO, anyone can throw parts together -- what separates the good from the bad is what happens afterwards.
If I were you I would try a pure system builder -- someone whos bread and butter is configuring and optimizing for the best possible performance. There are smaller specialty companies out there like Element PC (www.elementpc.com)or Thunderbox PC (www.thunderboxpc.com),etc. that may be a little more expensive than the parts dealers, but you will get a whole lot more bang for your buck at one of those places. Just because you HAVE a geforce 4 and an XP 2000+ cpu doesn't mean that your system is just as good as everyone else with those parts... so be careful how you spend your hard earned money.
