Okay, I am a huge noob at building pc's so please dont use complicated terms, but, I just bought a new PC (EXACT PC I BOUGHT ---> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBL8BER/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and a new monitor (exact link --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2HH7G0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) I hooked up power supply cables for both, ethernet cable and DVI from the monitor to the PC. (Only cables I have used, other than keyboard and mouse.) I start the PC and it turns on just fine no issues. I turn on the monitor it turns on normally then says "DVI No Signal" I have searched online for so long, I dont have a DisplayPort, the DVI port is the only one on the backside of the case, don't have a vga cord, tried HDMI and same thing happened except the monitor was blue and it said "No HDMI signal". I'm starting to suspect its something wrong with the computer but really hoping not because I dont want to mess with it. the DVI cable is dual link if that matters.
Haven't really messed with the PC at all other than taking out the packaging, i've tried looking online for the answer for so long but havent come up with anything and i'm very, very frustrated.
Thank you.

Solution
Go buy a displayport cable. Connect the DP cable to the monitor and graphics card (NOT the motherboard). Get 144hz.

Your gpu doesnt have a DVI output according to that link.

No - do not use an adapter to try for 144 thru hdmi. Just get a displayport cable.
Are you connecting the monitor via the graphics card rather than the motherboards DVI connection? (no picture of the back of the pc, so I don't know if the motherboard even has monitor connections). I would think that a pre-built PC would already have all of the drivers installed, so you shouldn't need the disks unless you reinstall Windows for some reason and need to start over. But even then, Windows will have basic drivers to allow the monitor to work, but not at the optimal resolution until the GPU drivers are installed.

there is only one dvi port.

Well, even if you tried to load drivers for the GPU from the disk, since you have no video from the monitor, that wouldn't be possible. You have tried both a DVI and HDMI cable, so that would seem to rule out cable issues. Have you tried rebooting the pc with the monitor already turned on?

here's an update: I used an HDMI cable and plugged it into the port labeled hdmi, didn't work then I found another port that wasnt labeled and it fit an hdmi cable and that worked. BUT!!! it will only give me 60hz and my monitor is 144hz, so if I use dvi then it will give me 144hz. Also the hdmi port that DID work was connected to the motherboard (i believe) and the other that DIDN'T work was connected to something else.

There is only one DVI port that I can find.

I had a friend that is pretty good with computers help me, and he said that I should be plugging display into my video card which is a radeon, but the only visible port on my radeon is hdmi, which gives me 60hz. So if I got an adapter that went from Dvi (in the monitor) to hdmi (into the pc) would it give me 144hz?

I actually am not sure that I was plugging it into the motherboard at all, my friend said I was already plugging it into the gpu. (radeon thing) I am probably very confusing but here is a screenshot, there is a big glare though.

Yes I'm so sorry, I figured out that just before you posted this. sorry for the trouble, but just to make sure DP will give me 144hz right?
