Hello.

I'm in the UK and was on the verge of ordering a system from Goldenelectronics.co.uk (found them via an advert on Tomshardware) but have come across a lot of recent negative feedback about delivery delays and defective PCs that has put me off.

I then found Cyberpowersystem.co.uk who seem to have good reviews but may be owned by Cyberpowerpc.com (CyberPower Inc) who appear to have even worse reports than Goldenelectnics.co.uk!

Has anyone tried cyberpowersystem.co.uk and if so did everything go well? Or is there another UK supplier I should be looking at?

Cheers.

Depends. Are you looking to buy a complete system, or components to build it yourself?

Well, I started off thinking about doing my first complete build, but as the PC prices from some suppliers don't seem to really be any more than the cost of the components I'm now inclined to go for a system. Assuming that the supplier is up to the job of course!

Therein lies the problem. If you do it yourself, you take greater care over the build than someone who knows fcuk all about you. Also, you don't have overall control on which components are used if someone else builds it. Build it yourself, you do.

A compromise solution is to buy a bundle. Komplett.co.uk and Overclockers.co.uk both sell bundles of CPU/Mobo/RAM, 100% compatability guaranteed. That's probably the hardest part. From there, it's all about chhosing the shiny bits, the hard part's been done for you.

Have a shutfi at these....

Neither site is the cheapest, but very reliable. I've used both on multiple occasions and they've never let me down.

According to PC World's large-scale survey, Cyberpower has the worst reliability of all the desktops:

Thank you for those links. This is exactly why I'm trying to find out if I should avoid Cyberpowersystem.co.uk or if they should not be tarred with the same brush as Cyberpowerpc.com

Cheers.

Smiler,

It's the same company or a subsidiary, according to:
http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/company/about.asp

I doubt that they have a separate engineering center and assembly plant for the UK. Otherwise they would probably brag about it. I suppose you could call them and ask.

So, I assume the engineering and build quality is the same.

However, they appear to have a separate support centre. So, the support might be better.
