[SOLVED] Cyberpunk 2077 awful performance with i7 7700k and 3070 - Bottleneck?

I'm having a problem with Cyberpunk 2077 performing on my setup. Doesn't matter if I put low, medium, or high setting I just get max 30fps at 1080p or 1440p. My CPU is usually at 99% and the GPU at 60%.

Is it bottlenecking?

Here are my specs:

i7 7700K 4.2 GHz
MSI Z270
Corsair Vengeance 3000 MHz 32GB
Gigabyte RTX 3070 Vision OC

Maybe a small overclock might make the deal?

Thank you!

On the AMD here so no rtx or dlss. Try the fidelity but it cause crashes. Did the SMT edit and now cpu utilize much more than before. It fluctuates very much. FPS performance should go up as devs optimize and tune game. They need patch to fix Lizzie :)
Thanks for the help!

I did a overclock to 4.8HGz and the difference was big. I finally can enjoy the game with some decent settings.

An upgrade will be on the line but not yet, looks like 4cores are totally not enough for the new gen of games.

Good to hear that fixed. Was thinking of raise the overclock but in game I about 35-40% cpu so roughly same and other new titles I play. Seems normal but game optimized is not. Stable though no crashes or glitches really likeing it so far. Run the 72fps on AMD card.

On my case the main problem was the bottleneck. It still get it but at least the experience is playable.

But even at 4.8GHz the CPU usage during the game if around 90/95% and the GPU is around 30%/40%, it's crazy this limitation.

I have the exact same setup OP except I have a evga 3080 and BIOS OC'd to 5.0ghz and I get 60+ fps at 2550x1440 using NVIDIA Optimized settings which is basically Ultra, RTX on and DLSS Balanced. Without DLSS off I get half the fps.

I'm happy with how smooth it plays and have no desire to upgrade CPU which would require a new mobo, i.e. don't feel like building a new rig to squeeze a few more frames given how well it plays with this setup.

thats odd...im also on a 7700k and my cpu is only a little over 60% when in the city. i also get solid 60fps at 1080p at high using my 1080ti, are you sure your not limited to 30hz using vsync? did you try disabling vsync?
