Did you get the plants, BOD's and metal chest, or did someone
else take them from the gift box?

I suggest you put the gift box behind a wall, so transparency
is required to see it. Its kind of in the open there. I never
know if you, or a passerby got the stuff.

See ya,

I got them. The red, orange and green plants are already the first three
members of my future rooftop garden(if i can ever get around to making my
alchemist...too busy with a tailor becoming a scribe, a warrior/healer working
in archery, and a treasure hunter having a crisis already and considering
fishing instead...i used to like fishing...), and the metal chest makes a
lovely holder for my collection of bright seeds.
I've done a couple of the bods already, and i've already used a bronze runic i
got from one to cobble together a large selection of Runic armor, even managed
to replace some of my existing armor on Cyrus.

I'll consider moving the box around, i guess it is kinda out in the open.
hehe(was partly planned to be a grab box once i started harvesting orange
petals...)

Afaik, i've gotten everything you've left so far. If you step inside, and back
out, you'll notice the stone chairs decorating my second floor patio, for one,
much nicer than the plain old wooden chairs i had. :), and the flower tapestry
is on the second floor, the bear rug filled that giant empty spot my recent
remodeling made on the first floor rather nicely, too. :)

If we ever catch each other on, i'll have to friend you to the house.(made the
teleporter friend-only to keep the rabble out of my hair...had a beggar swing
by yesterday...)

Almost no one(except the occasional treasure hunter) swings by that end of Fire
Isle...*cries*

*Oh, and that house spot rune you left was a bust. It's actually a spot i've
tried in the past, prior to Todd giving me the home i had near Minoc before the
last time i left UO, just wandering, wondering why with all the homes in the
swamp area, no one had tried that big, open spot, only to discover "housing can
not be created in this area"...probably has to do with the proximity of the
nearby hut...just so you know for future reference, in case you find someone in
need of a home and recall that big spot you know. :}*

I thought some half grown plants would be better than seeds at this time. :)

I had tables to go with the chairs, but I noticed you had tables, so I just
put in the chairs. If there is anything else you need, just ask, we probably
have it someplace or one of us can make it.

That's what I like about that end of the island. Its quite, except when the
T-hunters do not clean up the spawn. Logging on to an Ogre Lord, and a Lich
Lord just outside the door can be fun. hehe We had a little mining shack
in the same spot this mining shack is, in Fel, (before Trammel). Never had
problems mining. No one ever came around that end of the island.

Ok, that answers that question. Sorry about that. I will keep an eye out
for a bigger spot for you though. There was a time when I had an extra
character to place a house with to hold a spot for friends, but now all my
accounts have houses. (all full of junk. We are a bunch of junk collectors).
The Castle has even run out of room with all the seeds we cant seem to
toss.

Well, some day I will catch you at home. :) Have fun creating an Archer.
Its really hard now, IMO. There are some things about the old days I
do like better. *grin* (Not much, but skill gain is one).

They're great so far, just hope i don't kill 'em.
(only posting right now because the log-in server has decided to ignore me,
after playing for 3, almost lag free hours...was going to make a newbie
alchemist to start grinding up some potions to cure the bugs on the orange, and
bugs/fungi on the red...love the 6th character slot, btw. *smiles*)

Had a treasure hunter in the neighborhood last week, he'd died from a pull(i
guess) that earned him a demon and dread spider.
They must've smelled the cookies i was baking, becuase sure enough they were
banging on the door to get at 'em.
Luckily, i was getting ready to step out for a bod run, so the Cystocot left a
pair of EVs to play with them.
They must've had too much fun, because they keeled over dead before i could
even leave them to get acquainted. Oopsie. :}

>Ok, that answers that question. Sorry about that. I will keep an eye out

No problem, i actually like the little house. Easier to decorate...if i only
had some taste...

*chuckles*

>Have fun creating an Archer.

Skill gain is pretty good these days, that's for sure(though right about now i
miss the days of going from 0-GM shooting at earth eles...was so much simpler),
and i'm making great progress so far.
Unfortunetly, i had to abuse the pit fighters a little early on, but after i
got around 65 skill, i headed to Despise and filled ettins with bolts for an
hour or so. :}

Cyrus is now up to 71.8 skill, and still climbing nicely, and after a long
skill calculating session, i've even figured that i can keep fencing, though i
will have to lose the 10 points i put in over the past few weeks...(but at
least i won't be wasting arrows when i go hunting for feathers to make
arrows...)

*chuckles*

So Cyrus will be quite well rounded, with Archery for those targets that aren't
idea to get close to(Devourers, Rotting Corpses, Bone Demons..), and can take
up the kryss(or spear if i get lucky with a runic in the near future and get a
good one with hci/dci/ssi and hit lightning/fireball...hey, i can dream. hehe)
when he's forced into close combat.
Would be nice to take him to the gauntlet, get disgustingly lucky, and get the
dryad bow, though. hehe(i've got a 30ssi compy that comes close to the dryad's
freakish speed, but doesn't quite compare since it has no damage mod, though
the life leech mod is handy...)
And as things stand now, he still has 25% dci(samurai helm and an hci/dci ring
i found with +7 tactics and okay resists), so melee isn't as much of a problem
as i originally thought it would be after losing parry. :}

I'm liking being so well rounded, and hope to improve my armor to recover the
resists i lost from my old pre-aos Val enhanced shield...

Thanks so much for all your help, from the house to the furnishings. If you
know any good interior decorators, though, i could use one. hehe

(If i can ever remember how the house near Minoc was decorated, maybe it won't
be as bad...think that one had the forge on the roof, though...)

When the 7th year rewards come out, I want a fireplace. They said the fireplace
can be used as a forge also. That's what will be my forge at the mining shack
in Sept. 😛

Try smelting at the hearth. You do not need an anvil to smelt.
I will check out the one next door to you. See if I can smelt.

The UO web site claims the FP hot enough to forge and cook with. I
haven't tested this myself.

Unlike the stone oven, you can place the fireplace anywhere in your
home, even in the middle of the room. Like the stone oven, it's too
tall, and the graphics will show up in the floor above.

You still have to design your home appropriately if you want the
fireplace/stone oven anywhere but the uppermost floor. I have yet to
find the decorating "trick" that will hide the graphics above.

I did manage to hang a Stag Trophy on the "mantle", but it was
off-center, so didn't look very nice. Pity :-|
