Before Steam entered my life, I could play CZ without having to connect
to the internet first.

Is there a way to play it the "old" way?

As long as you don't "exit & logout" of Steam you should be able to play in
offline mode. The retail version isn't affected and should play as normal.

You can reinstall in a different location on your computer using the disks
....this will give you non-online play.
