D:\ Drive missing 1.4gb space

Can someone tell me why my D:\ drive is missing 1.5gb space. WinDirStat lists it as 34.6Gb used and when all file sizes are seen it sums up to 33.2Gb. Why is this happening?
I bought a new system and this is a new Windows install

Probably just something to do with Windows or because of caching takes up space that doesn't show up when you manually count it.

That, or you have unallocated space on the drive that was never added to a partition. You can change this in disk management through Windows.

That, or you have unallocated space on the drive that was never added to a partition. You can change this in disk management through Windows.

Nope there was no unallocated space

Hidden files.
Excess sector space. 3kb of data takes up a full 4kb sector.
gigabyte vs gibibyte.

Run WinDirStat as Administrator, and show us a screencap of this.

32,223,000,000 would be 32.2 gb's, still a gig shy of 33.2 and over 2 gig's shy of 34.6 so that doesn't make sense.

windirstat reports less space occupied as opposed to windows.

Its a WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm and yes this is a secondary partition

Looks to me to be just a difference in counting, and/or space not counted due to having the "Documents and Settings" folder on that secondary partition.

This is absolutely not something I'd worry about. We're talking about maybe 2GB at most. 0.2% of the 1TB drive space.
Monitor it over a few days. See how it goes.

But this didnt happen on my previous AMD FX build. Seeing this from this new Ryzen Build. Is this because of new chipset?

It happens on my Intel system.
Each of those read slightly different.

WindirStat is showing free space as 669.1 Gb and 54.2 gb as used space which windows is also showing. But when I select all the files and folders>properties its less by 1gb, I think some system file is present which is not shown and it should be left as it is.
