D9200 graphics upgrade

Solution

Depends on the chip it's connected to.

Think of RAM as a car, and the chip itself as the engine. You can stuff more people in a larger car but if you have a weak engine it's not going to go very fast with all those people no matter what.

I would not be happy with either one but since you are looking for a cheap solution those are really your choices. For CAD stuff I'd pick the 295 and up over the 210.
Hum, I always thought a D9200 was an crt arcade monitor.
Multi sync capable of 15Khz 25Khz and 38Khz if i remember rightly.
Came in sizes of 27" or 29" 4:3 aspect Quality on the display output was fantastic for a CRT.
Made by Betson, of course you cannot find them now for love nor money CRT tube production is dead now.
If you can find one you looking at about £700 or more for a factory sealed one.

Unless it`s a Dell based system were on about.
And the numbers are wrong.

Did you check if the system will run a Q6700?

You should skip the 210 though and look for a Quadro NVS, they are very cheap used, 295 and up though, the others are not really worth it. Will be slow but faster than a 210.

I found an old thread on here where it was said that the Q6700 was the best I could go to and the person did a follow up saying it did work very well.
My boss just gave me a evga 430 so if needed I can upgrade the power a bit.
The only reason I picked the 210 is I know it is compatible.

Find out what the power supply is in the system, if it's a tower system you may have enough to run a 430 without upgrading the power supply. Since you got confirmation (of sorts) about the Q6700, that is a very good upgrade without moving to a full new system. Fill the thing with RAM also, 8 would be good if the system can take it and you have a 64 bit OS.
