Question Da Vinci Resolve having trouble placing audio clips below existing video. Should I use different software, or is there a workaround / solution?

Essentially, I'm doing a video with some voiceover / commentary clips. However, when I drag the clip to where I want it, in DaVinci Resolve, the playhead and the timeline view just jump back to the beginning, leaving my audio clip in a seemingly random / arbitrary place instead of where I wanted it.

It doesn't matter if I make a separate empty audio track just for the clips I'm moving below the existing video + audio, the same thing happens anyway.

I could switch to another software, it doesn't have to even be free, as long as it's a one-time purchase. However, I was going to also check if someone else on this forum had that problem and maybe discovered a fix for it?

DaVinci Resolve (free) or DaVinci Resolve Studio (license)?

What you are trying to do (the requirement) may not be fully available in the free version.

I looked for the "fine print" but did not note disclaimers etc. with respect to the free version.

However, you (as a user) may be able to read between the article lines and recognize a not so obvious limit on audio clip controls.
