Stable at 3.3ghz with shitty PNY Optima ddr2 667 memory

So, my PNY memory is running at 734 up from it's rated 667 speed which I find kind of cool but surprising

I have my ddr2 vcore @ +.1v
PCI-E @ +.1v
FSB @ +.1v
CPU Vcore @ 1.375

It's stable and running great I can't believe it... I tried booting with just the cpu vcore boosted and the fsb/ddr2/pci-e at default but wouldn't boot. with +.1 it boots and is stable. cpu vcore @ 1.35 wouldn't boot so I'm running 1.375 even though there is a setting in between 1.35 and 1.375.

Is my overclock safe? I'm still on stock air. Running fine. Is my cpu vcore too high?

You settings are conservative.
So long as you are stable, there is no real danger to your hardware.

The biggest thing is to keep an eye on your Temps when on heavy load for extended periods of time.

Now part of me wants to try a 400 FSB... but that probably won't work and I don't want to risk it. I mean come on, pny memory running at 800 speeds when it's 667? and hitting 3.6 with stock cooling? eek.

IMHO, I would be happy with what you have.

1) You will need a better CPU cooler.
2) I would get a Chipset cooler if you dont have one before doing 400FSB

Note: Voltages will also need to go up.

Some folks have gotten 3.6 Going, but what you will find if that the small increases in performance are not always noticable in use and the extra work to achieve this is often not worth the trouble/risk.

In my case, I got to 3.2 on all stock settings, but chose to throttle it back to 3.0 ghz just so the CPU Cooler ran quieter when under load. I could not perceive the difference.

Na I think you're right, I'll need a better cpu cooler, and better memory. I'm very happy with 3.3ghz, and may bring it back down to 3.0ghz. I probably won't notice a difference between 3.0ghz and 3.3ghz in the games I play, since at 3ghz the min. never really goes below 60fps anyways. But right now with 3.3ghz, temps are more than safe and fine, I only had to go from a 1.325 vcore to a 1.375, bump the other voltages +.1... so I don't really see much reason to tone it down to 3.0ghz.

I can't believe how fast my comp is now : ). 10k hard drive, 3.3ghz core2duo : ), now I need to find out how far I can overclock my x1950 pro but I've heard they don't OC too well : (.
