I know about that, but did Daikatana ruin him? I haven't heard anything
from him since that debacle. And if you don't remember, that statement
was part of some Daikatana promo story, "John Romero is going to make
you his bitch" referring to how awesome Daikatana was going to be.

Indeed, I would suspect he is still in game development working on
something but not setting himself up for (another) huge fall by making
himself the public face of the project. I have no idea what that project
might be though.
