Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a P4 1.7 GHz, 1GB or RAM + 6.5GB pagefile. Running Win2KP. I have an external Smart and Friendly SCSI burner with the latest firmware (that I'm thing of changing to EIDE internal or USB) 12x4x32 and a DVD-ROM (16X DVD, 40X CD).

I'm trying to burn with a Variety of software: Roxio Easy CD 5 Platinum, some Creative SW that came with my sound card and Clone CD.

The Roxio tells me that I cannot burn from CD-CD without creating a temp file on my HD, because the read speed is too slow from my DVD-ROM.

When I use Clone CD using DAO Raw format (?), I have a utilization of 100% on my CPU!!

Is it my DVD-ROM or my burner? I'm not sure what's going on. Can anyone help?

Thanks

You didn't mention the connection type of the DVD-ROM, is it IDE or SCSI like the burner? have you had problems before or is this a new thing?

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I have an internal EIDE DVD-ROM. Have not had problems like this before.
