Question Dark Reader causing Tom's articles to not show certain images

Hello all, I'm running into a problem with this site and the Dark Reader extension for Chrome. Most of the page renders fine, and individual images show up okay, but all slideshows are just big gray rectangles with arrow buttons on the left and right sides. Changing between Filter, Filter+, Static, and Dynamic doesn't fix the problem. Turning the extension off for the page doesn't help either. Right clicking the invisible image and opening in a new tab works, but is tedious. I'm having to do this for nearly every graph or chart I want to read on the site, and it's making me reluctant to click on Tom's articles at all.

If I load the page in Chrome or any other browser without the Dark Reader extension, it looks fine. It also seems to work better in Firefox with Dark Reader. But I don't want to use Firefox, and I won't give up Dark Reader either.

Is anybody else encountering this problem? Is there a known fix? (don't say uninstall the extension or switch browsers)

This:

"If I load the page in Chrome or any other browser without the Dark Reader extension, it looks fine. "

Why or what is being gained by Dark Reader with respect to Tom's or any other websites?

What is driving the requirement for using Dark Reader?

More information and details are needed.

Then the matter can be escalated, as approriate, to the upper echelons.

Provide some specific slideshow links that result in " big gray rectangles".

Details matter.

Thank you for your response!

It's not that anything is gained on this site by using Dark Reader, it's that Dark Reader lets me use dark mode on many other sites and avoid hurting my eyes. Tom's isn't the only site that has compatibility problems, but it is the only one where those problems can't be fixed by just turning the extension off. I'd have to completely remove Dark Reader to make images on this site visible, but the extension is more valuable to me than any one website.

On this page in particular,
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-9-7950x3d-cpu-review/6
all of the graphs near the top (between "You'll find further game-by-game breakdowns below" and "The first slides are simplified") are just gray rectangles, I can only see the actual images by right clicking the gray rectangle and selecting Open Image in New Tab.
On the same page further down, at Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmarks, the image is visible because it isn't a slideshow.

Dark Reader is a very popular extension with over 5 million users, and while its behavior is a little inconsistent, I can't be the only person having this problem. It persists on every computer I use, and in other Chromium browsers. Only Firefox works, but Firefox gives me enough trouble on other sites that I won't go back to it.

I have escalated the problem and requested other ideas and suggestions.

In the meantime are you able to take a couple of example screenshots showing what you are seeing?

Post the sreenshots here via imgur (www.imgur.com). Thanks.

Appreciate it! Here is a link with two screenshots of the article linked above, one with the improperly-rendered slideshow, and one with a more-or-less correctly-rendered image.
